**Job Title:** MRI Technologist

**Experience:** Minimum 2 years of MRI experience required
**License:** Certified MRI Technologist or ARRT Magnetic Resonance Imaging
**Certifications:** Basic Life Support (BLS) or BLS Instructor
**Must-Have:** Successful completion of an accredited MRI program or ARRT-R
**Job Description:**
- Must be flexible with work hours to meet department needs and be dependable, accountable, and cooperative.
- Responsible for performing technical procedures independently with judgment, ingenuity, and initiative for the diagnosis and/or treatment of diseases.
- Obtain complete clinical history, gather examination data, and assess for contraindications.
- Follow established procedures for administering contrast media safely.
- Ensure all studies have proper patient identification and review images for clinically acceptable results.
- Respond to emergency situations and provide assistance in all modalities when needed.
- Observe patient condition and evaluate when physician intervention is necessary.
- Ensure patient privacy and maintain dignity throughout exams/procedures.
- Organize schedule, prioritize activities, and follow physicians' instructions.
- Demonstrate and understand pre-and-post procedural care, sterile technique, and prep patients for procedures.
- Apply supportive and immobilization devices safely and effectively.
- Communicate clearly with patients to minimize anxiety and facilitate cooperation using AIDET.
- Participate in the orientation and training of departmental employees and complete mandatory education requirements.
- Produce acceptable images following established exam protocols and ensure equipment is operational.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment in the MRI suite while ensuring equipment calibration.
- Transport and position patients for procedures and assist them on/off the procedure table.
- Perform clerical and support duties to ensure service continuity and quality.
- Keep supervisors informed of responsibilities, problems, or potential issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with standards and perform other duties as assigned.
- Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with a variety of customers, including patients, families, co-workers, and physicians.
- Be detail-oriented and have the capacity to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Function independently while actively participating in a team environment and adhere to hospital policies, protocols, and procedures.
