Heirlooms Receiving Associate
40hrs/week
Become a part of Heirlooms for Hospice and HopeWest in Grand Junction as the next Heirlooms Receiving Associate. This position has the unique opportunity to become a team member at one of the most frequented stores in Mesa County. You'll feel good about going to work knowing Heirlooms helps to support the mission of HopeWest.
This position, as a primary focus, is responsible for physically acquiring, moving, and storing donations. This position may also assist with overall store operations when needed & is VERY physical in nature with ability to team lift up to and potentially over 100 pounds frequently.
OUTCOMES EXPECTED:
  • Demonstrate HopeWest values at all times
  • Assists in loading and unloading donated merchandise from donor's car or Heirlooms van
  • Removes furniture from the sales floor
  • Maintain safety and organization of warehouse, and storage units.
  • Move items from warehouse /storage area to other designated areas or charities
  • Label and organize stored items
  • Shop for and /or pickup store supplies as needed
  • Will drive the Heirlooms van for donations and store supply pickups
  • Assist during major remerchandising events
  • Count cash and change in the register
  • Able to answer phones and transfer calls as needed
  • Able to schedule donation pickups
  • May OPEN and CLOSE store
  • May work on Saturdays
  • Will be competent on the cash register
QUALIFICATIONS :
  • A working knowledge of the public with Customer Service experience preferred.
  • Ability to be interrupted and maintain a good attitude with customers, volunteers and staff.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Valid Colorado driver's license with CLEAN RECORD and unlimited access to reliable transportation.
  • Adequate automobile insurance.
  • Effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - Heavy work
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use the hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs and ladders; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell.
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 50 pounds individually and lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds with a team lift. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Pay and Benefits:
  • $20.00/Hour
