Job Responsibilities
With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.
This position is located at the Tri-County Stabilization Center 3685 River Ave #302 North Charleston SC 29405
Responsibilities for this MHP I position include but are not limited to:
Under limited supervision provide support, clinical treatment, educational, consultative and preventive mental health services to patients at TriCounty Crisis Stabilization Unit to enhance recovery.
Provide quality person centered care as demonstrated by the use of evidence-based clinical interventions.
Provides all forms of direct clinical services, including intakes, group and individual as credentialed by the Center and measured by the productivity expectation.
Collects, organizes, and records data and information for medical records in accordance with QI guidelines that is reflective of qualify patient care.
Demonstrates recognition of importance of collaboration, customer service, and teamwork with the Center, TCSC, and the community.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
State Minimum Requirements:
A master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.
Agency (Facility) Minimum Requirements:
INT: A Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited program, university, or college in psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family counseling or other behavioral discipline deemed equivalent by SCDMH.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of Mental Health legal principles and practices, of methods, principles and practices of clinical counseling and educational services.
  • Considerable knowledge of psychopathology and patient management in psychiatric setting and working knowledge of basic health and welfare services provided by other agencies.
  • Ability to effectively plan, coordinate and manage complex treatment and to the ability to conduct detailed investigations, draw conclusions and recommend required actions.

This position is considered essential and may require reporting for duty in the event of weather or similar emergency events. If any of the essential job duties fall below the "Meets" level, at any time during the rating period the disciplinary process may be initiated.
