In our continued mission to deliver the best value, experience and opportunity for our communities, stakeholders, and partners, we are seeking an Executive Assistant/Legal Assistant who provides executive, administrative, and development support to the Executive Vice President & General Counsel and Legal Team. This position will report directly to the EVP/General Counsel with flexibility to work in a hybrid work environment (in NC, NY, or NJ) offered by Tanger’s hub-and-spoke approach to a modern Teams-driven workplace.

About the Role:

As the Executive Assistant/Legal Assistant , you will serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external constituencies on all matters pertaining to the Executive Vice President/General Counsel while serving as a liaison to the Board of Directors and senior management teams. You will organize and coordinate executive outreach and external relations efforts while overseeing special projects and administrative duties to support the Legal Team.

Providing a bridge for smooth communication between the Executive Vice President/General Counsel’s office and internal departments, you will demonstrate leadership to maintain credibility, trust, and support with members of the Executive leadership team. You will build relationships crucial to the success of the organization, maintaining discretion and confidentiality in all relationships with Executives and Board members.

How you will contribute to what we do:

  • Serve as a fundamental partner by assisting with high touch executive support, relationship management, and development of key initiatives and action items.
  • Prepare presentations, statistical analysis, and meeting reports; attend important meetings and distribute recap.
  • Research and follow up on incoming issues and concerns, including those of a sensitive or confidential nature. Act as proxy by prioritizing and determining the appropriate course of action, referral, or response, exercising judgment to reflect the EVP/GC's style and organization policy.
  • Plan, coordinate and ensure the General Counsel’s schedule is followed and respected. Provide "gatekeeper" and "gateway" role, creating win-win situations for direct access to the GC’s and other Executive’s time and office.
  • Work closely and effectively with the EVP/GC to keep them and other Executives well informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities, following up appropriately. Complete a variety of administrative tasks including managing extremely active calendars of appointments; arranging conference calls and scheduling meetings; completing expense reports; composing and preparing correspondence that is sometimes confidential; arranging complex and detailed travel plans, itineraries, and agendas and planning large, complex meetings with on-site support as needed; compiling documents for travel-related meetings.
  • Assist General Counsel and other executive assistants with Board of Directors & Trustees meetings.
  • Coordinate with General Counsel to ensure Director’s Corporate Governance requirements are satisfied as a Publicly Traded Company on the NYSE.
  • Prepare online Board Books using DILIGENT, publishing materials and communicating with Directors on a regular basis.
  • Provide administrative and project support to the Legal Team.

About You:

  • Five (5) plus years of experience supporting C-Level executives is required. A bachelor’s degree and commercial real estate experience is preferred.
  • You have experience providing administrative support for a Legal team (legal document support, coordinating with legal consultants, etc.).
  • You have a high proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Your expert level written, and verbal communication skills are a strength.
  • You have excellent attention to detail and possess exceptional organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly.
  • You demonstrate proactive approaches to problem-solve with strong decision-making capability and can anticipate needs and manage ever changing priorities and deadlines.
  • You exude emotional maturity.
  • You have strong research and analytical skills with an ability to understand and analyze a wide variety of data points.
  • Your strong interpersonal skills give you the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including staff, board members, and external partners.
  • You have a proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of customer/client service and response.

Salary Range Disclaimer

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Tanger's total compensation package for employees.

Pay Range: $90,000 - $125,000 per year
