The HR Manager/Business Partner will be responsible for developing a deep understanding of the business and assigned functional groups’ current and future strategy plans and objectives. This role will be accountable for leading initiatives to directly impact strategies to foster talent development, performance management, compensation, inclusion, and workforce planning. The HR Manager will collaborate with business leaders, as well as other business advisors (e.g. Talent Acquisition, Learning & Professional Development, Finance, etc.), on talent-related matters and will act as an employee and firm advocate and change agent.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Talent Strategy & Execution
- Responsible for relationship management with functional business leaders to ensure day-to-day operations function consistently and in alignment with firm strategy e.g. talent/client experience, employee engagement, retention, and recognition initiatives.
- Build strong relationships with business leaders across the firm, considering talent trends, business needs, business direction and business strategy in order to deliver solutions that support positive results and impact firm performance
- In partnership with COE’s, HR Market & line of business peers, seek to find increased efficiencies while maintaining quality client service
- Lead the delivery of RSM’s Talent strategy in alignment with firm strategy, to drive consistency across a matrixed organization
- Integrate, align, and embed culture of diversity and inclusion in activities and initiatives
- Coach leaders and help develop plans for career growth, leadership opportunities, mobility, and succession
- Leverage existing reports (recognition, feedback) to gather, organize data, conduct basic analysis, and develop recommendations and conclusions.
- Coach and advise employees and leaders on challenging and complex situations by applying comprehensive knowledge of HR and firm policies and procedures
- Provide coaching to people leaders on complex performance issues, including collaboration on employee counseling reports (ECR)
- Educate and advise leadership on compensation objectives, bonus programs, and applicable regulations.
- Facilitate talent development meetings including year-end performance, promotion, and compensation recommendations
Education/Certification
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources or related field required
- 5+ years of experience working as a HR Business Partner or related experience required
- Project management experience
- Global workforce experience preferred
- Comprehensive expertise in HR principles, including relevant federal, state, and local laws and regulations
- Strong business acumen and business fluency to understand how the firm operates and identify and interpret levers that impact firm performance
- Strong verbal/written communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Understands and can articulate compensation principles and practices with clients
- Effective organization / time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to respond positively to changing circumstances, seek and implement change to drive business improvement; serve as a change agent
- Operates with a sense of urgency
- Proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
Compensation Range: $92,600 - $159,000
