This is a great opportunity for an experienced or up and coming leader to oversee the provision of payroll expertise, advice and services, as well as manage a small team of professionals to achieve fortnightly payroll requirements for our Minda workforce.

What you will do

Offering a high level of autonomy and the chance to work as part of a supportive team, this role will:

  • Lead, coach and manage a team, including recruitment, performance management and feedback, to achieve a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Lead the provision of timely payroll processing, and responses to employee queries.
  • Manage end of month and end of year processes and the administration of payroll taxes, superannuation payments, taxable fringe benefits, termination payments, and increments.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, demonstrating a strong aptitude for the application of Awards, Enterprise Agreements and legislation in administering payroll.
  • Manage employee and payroll data and system configurations, including troubleshooting, and testing of system upgrades to ensure accuracy and compliance.

What you need for Success

  • Experience or potential to lead a payroll team in a medium to large organisation (circa 1000+) with a high level of customer service and accuracy.
  • Sound understanding of payroll practices including calculation of entitlements, tax rates, superannuation and termination payments.
  • Ability to manage data integrity, test system upgrades and troubleshoot system issues.
  • Strong time management and attention to detail, and ability to make sound decisions.
  • Experience in the application of industrial instruments and relevant legislation, including superannuation, long service leave, and Return to Work.
  • An understanding of the application of salary packaging and FBT concessions.

Desirable:

  • Leadership qualifications would be advantageous.
  • Experience working in the disability sector or a genuine desire to work in community.

  • NDIS Workers Screening.
  • Current unrestricted South Australian Driver’s Licence.
