As part of the firm's Marketing and Brand team, this position is responsible for assisting the Firm with all aspects of design and production of marketing materials and templates including: advertisements, handouts, brochures, pitches, proposals, white papers, CLEs, organizational structure or process charts, complex diagrams, infographics, website visuals, email marketing graphics, podcast recording and production, and video capture and editing as well as fulfilling additional graphic needs. This role will also be tasked with content and platform management for the website, email marketing, digital marketing and thought leadership. All responsibilities require the candidate to meet deadlines and prioritize in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professional decorum and ensuring high quality, accuracy, and brand standards.
The successful candidate must demonstrate strong foundational design, organizational, presentation, and time-management skills to produce compelling communications that are properly targeted. This is an exempt position, resident in either Austin, Dallas, Houston, or San Francisco offices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The coordinator will be responsible for creating/sizing/updating designs for printed and graphic materials listed above as well as capturing/creating/editing digital materials including audio and video for use online through the company's website, podcast platforms, social media, and email campaigns.
This position will be responsible for marketing and brand activities, including:

  • Firmwide marketing support through design, production, and editing.
  • Maintain adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Keep current on design trends and new software and enhance skills on current software used.
  • Support the firm's digital marketing efforts through platform management.
  • Manage the firm's stock photography accounts and photograph libraries.
  • Ensure that lawyer photos meet standards and maintain the firm's lawyer photos libraries across multiple platforms.
  • Be responsible for developing all collateral either independently or with outside design assistance.
  • Assisting with visually effective PowerPoint templates and presentations, design, and graphics, including maps, charts, graphs and infographics.
  • Developing all website and email marketing materials including content, graphics, and branding.
  • Proactively suggesting ways of displaying complex data and stories (infographics).
  • Creation of documentation assisting and training of others within the firm to perform certain basic graphic tasks.
  • Other tasks and special projects as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills
  • Minimum of 5 years of applicable experience in legal or professional services environment.
  • Must have completed a BA or BS Degree (graphic design, communications, or marketing); with a portfolio of recent print and digital projects.
  • Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively as a team member.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate with staff and lawyers.
  • Must have strong production skills, understand the printing process and color management.
  • Must have the ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects on tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment while adapting to changing priorities and managing a large volume of projects and assets.
  • Must demonstrate proven skills in: Microsoft Office Suite, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, Word, PowerPoint; Excel, Outlook, Smartsheets.
  • Skills preferred in Premier Pro, After Effects, Sitecore, Vuture, Descript or similar.
  • Ability to translate graphics into multiple digital and print platforms is required.
Working Conditions and Environment
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
  • This position is a full-time position requiring a 5-day work week (which may be hybrid) and standard hours as outlined in the firm policy manual. Additional hours will be required when necessary to meet established deadlines or stay current with occasional peaks in workload.
  • This role may be hybrid and will require three days per week present in the office.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

If this position is filled in the San Francisco office of Baker Botts L.L.P., the salary range is $84,000 - $126,000.
