Job Description

The Precision Medicine Pathology team drives the scientific strategy for translational tissue-based biomarker development & discovery target validation/MOA projects, leads collaborative programs, conducts histopathological evaluation & analysis of IHC & other tissue-based assays, and provides technical/scientific leadership.

Major Responsibilities

  • Perform routine histological procedures including tissue accessioning, gross-dissection, tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, staining and image capture of frozen and FFPE tissues
  • Perform histochemical, IHC, and IF staining using Leica Autostainer XL, Ventana Discovery ULTRA, and Leica BOND RX platforms
  • Perform image capture, data entry and organization using platforms such as (but not limited to) Leica Aperio imager and associated software
  • Generate data and present findings to relevant project teams in departmental and cross-functional meetings

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of histology experience or Master’s degree with 1+ years of experience
  • Strong proficiency in standard histological techniques including grossing, processing, embedding, and paraffin and cryo-sectioning
  • Experience with development of immunohistochemistry (IHC) and other tissue-based assays including immunofluorescence (IF) multiplexing and in situ hybridization (ISH)
  • Strong computer literacy
  • Excellent organization and communication skills, and a motivation to learn new tools and techniques
  • Ability to think strategically, manage time and workflows and work independently as well as part of a cross-functional team
