Primary Purpose

The Director of Events is responsible for partnering with the USS Sales team to secure new events contracts, oversee P&L management including project management, change orders, and customer relations of large events. This role will also manage Regional Project Managers to ensure successful operations of events.

Essential Functions

  • Lead, motivate, and guide the members of our Regional Project Manager to the highest level of performance.
  • Monitors monthly metrics and scorecard reporting, identifying trends, seeking out areas for continuous improvement, suggesting tactics to help improve efficiencies and enhancing the customer experience by ensuring that escalation and resolutions are being handled appropriately.
  • Oversees the execution of a broad array of projects for events.
  • Reviews field tasks and develops the safety procedures associated with the scope of work and regulatory standards.
  • Assesses and validates all subcontractors have appropriate training and certifications.
  • Manages resources to accomplish identified priorities personally or through on-site technicians/leads/foreman.
  • Works with customers to proactively establish reuse, reduction, recycling and alternate treatment options and develop and implement subsequent programs.
  • Offers general guidance for Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA) and other applicable local, state, and federal regulatory bodies.
  • Monitors sub-contractor services for completeness or deficiencies.
  • Travel minimum 50%.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

This position has direct supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Minimum 4 Year / Bachelor’s degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.

EXPERIENCE

  • 7 years of related experience in operations, management and/or sales and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years of Special Events experience.

ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Experience with hands-on event planning and logistics management.
  • Successful experience in people development and leading/managing an operations team.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Competitive Analysis.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, DOT, USCG, EPA, TDSHS, TCEQ, TGLO, and other relevant agencies' regulations.
  • Prior experience interfacing with local, state, and federal government agencies.
  • Possess a strong work ethic with the ability to be flexible and proficient in high-stress situations.
  • Creative problem-solver with strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Self-motivator with eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess strong work ethic with strong time management abilities.

At United Site Services, our salary ranges reflect the minimum and maximum base pay for the posted position applicable to all locations across the US. Within the posted salary range, individual pay is determined by the geographic location, job related skills, experience, education, and certifications. Our total compensation package includes base pay plus a comprehensive benefits program.

Salary Range

$125,000.00 – $161,000.00 / year.
