Job Description Summary:

We are seeking a Product Lead who can transform its reliable and agile Artificial Intelligence platform that detects and prevents fraud in real-time and helps in recovering losses. Risk as a Service at PayPal is a highly available and sophisticated platform that enables releasing fast fraud strategies, machine learning experiments, and is optimized to respond proactively to all developing cybercrime threats. The Product Manager will be responsible for building the risk platform strategy and execute on critical deliverables that improve the platform’s latency and reduce the time-to-market of a risk solution. Besides excellent product management execution skills and experience, this person must have a deep understanding and passion for what is essential for risk platform users (i.e., developers, data scientists, and risk analysts) to do their jobs free of friction and unnecessary overhead. In addition, you must have the ability to succeed in a highly matrixed environment, where success is dependent on your ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners in a positive, productive, and transparent way.

Your day to day

  • Bring a strong industry perspective geared towards machine learning/artificial intelligence that can help shape and evolve the RaaS products to the next level.
  • Develop a deep technical understanding of the risk and chargeback management solutions and have a strong empathy towards the pains and challenges of platform users such as developers, data scientists, and risk analysts.
  • Product ownership of external APIs and SDK enhancements that enable merchants to integrate with RaaS products and impact the performance.
  • Author and review product requirements, use cases and work closely with stakeholders including Data Science, Architecture, Customer Support, Integrations, Pricing operations, Finance, Legal & Compliance and other cross-functional domains.
  • Embrace and lead an Agile team of highly engaged engineers through the software development lifecycle while practising transparency, trust, collaboration, and humility.
  • Identify product and enablement gaps through feedback from regional teams, stakeholders, market research etc.
  • Establish a strong network of internal partnerships and advocacy with peers across all cross-functional groups in PayPal.

Your way to impact

  • Build, launch and scale PayPal’s flagship Chargehound and Chargeback Protection services for all unbranded payments.
  • Manage and guide a team of product managers, working closely together with the RaaS product leadership. Work with executive leadership and product leaders on shaping the product strategy and roadmap and set key business goals (OKRs).
  • Serve as a product leader and SME in strategic pre- and post-sales customer engagements.
  • Manage budgets, hiring, training, mentoring, and other operational aspects of the team.
  • Be a thought leader in driving the product and commercial strategy, in tandem with the leadership team.

What Do You Need To Bring

  • 7+ years of experience working in product or strategy roles for customer facing products or businesses.
  • Technical understanding of the payment fraud and chargeback management solutions is required.
  • Ability to think and communicate at multiple levels, from conceptual product architecture to minute implementation details simultaneously.
  • Proven analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up business decisions.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and thrive in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities - you can cut through the noise and laser focus on what really matters.
  • Ability to clearly communicate user experience issues and service specifications to both business and technical audience using requirements documents, use cases and desired outcomes.
  • Strong technical, leadership and collaborative traits.
  • "Can do” attitude, team player, fun, energetic personality, works well under pressure.

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is $84500 to $204600.
