Onsite Rack/Stack/Cabling L3 Lead-Data Center


Ongoing project involving equipment migration, focusing on rack and stack of Cisco equipment. 40 hours per week, Mon - Fri. Must have prior data center experience. Cisco certified is required. You will be leading a team of 2-3 other techs and should be comfortable with firmware upgrades and light configuration.


Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the team in racking/stacking devices, following cable matrices, and cable labeling.
  2. Work with remote engineers and provide console access when necessary.
  3. Provide daily updates on shared files to the project manager and key stakeholders.
  4. Rack storage, servers, and switches under the direction of the lead IC engineer and project manager.
  5. Rack computer equipment into specific U levels as directed by client build documents.
  6. Follow all client and customer guidelines regarding best practices.
  7. Install power strips to the rack as directed by client build documents.
  8. Familiarity with using standard tools to safely install hardware into racks.
  9. Cable all systems per client best practices.
  10. Label all cables (power and network) on both ends to client standards as directed in build documents.
  11. Ensure cabling follows best practices, optimizing for future maintenance.
  12. Maintain clean and neat cabling that meets all standards.
  13. Power test and run basic commands to capture system logs.
  14. Perform other engineering tasks as requested by IC lead and project manager.
  15. Handle additional requests regarding system configurations, system checks, cabling, power balancing, or other related tasks related to building racks, including firmware or OS installation as per OEM specifications/guidelines.
