Job Requirements / Description

General Responsibilities

Ensure the efficient operation of the school, including oversight of policies and procedures related to daily functions, enrollment, staffing, curriculum, and administration.

Support department lead in decisions related to hiring, supervising, training and terminating staff, in accordance with Easter Seals, OSHA, FLSA and other applicable labor requirements.

Provide supervision and support to professional program staff and volunteers to ensure quality service and a safe environment.

Coach and mentor staff and volunteers. Handle and exhaust all efforts to resolve conflict, prior to escalating to department director.

Provide support services for children, students, families, and staff.

Manage student issues related to attendance, disciplinary consequences, field trips.

Assist parents with issues they have, prior to escalating to department director.

Follow up on enrollment prospects by screening telephone inquiries for admission, parent interviews, maintaining relationships with prospects, collection and management of data.

Ensure that all referrals, wait list and information calls for school are documented.

Ensure proper completion of student enrollment and dismissal documentation.

Support department lead in the development of the program budget

Track program expenses in an effort to ensure appropriate spending within budgetary guidelines.

Support efforts to maintain enrollment necessary to meet budget projections.

Support billing process by ensuring submission of all billing data for services and food program.

Support Director with compliance processes for Licensures, Accreditations, Medicaid, ADA and others affecting facility and programs.

Provide a safe and clean environment for staff and students by overseeing supply orders, submitting timely requests for facility maintenance and repairs, fire drills, fire drill practice and emergency contact sheets for staff and parents.

Handle other facility related issues as needed

Promote fundraising efforts for the School.

Aid in marketing and recruitment of new students.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety of all staff, volunteers, visitors and individuals receiving services at Easter Seals.
    • Act in compliance with Medical and Non-Medical Emergency Procedures.
    • Assist individuals in evacuating building during emergency situations to include but not limited to: fire drills and external disaster drills. Specific duties to be assigned by immediate supervisor.
    • Assume assigned responsibility for non-clinical duties during disaster and/or drills including but not limited to safety of files/office areas, closure of doors.
  • Participate in continuous agency wide quality and performance improvement and comply with all Quality Improvement requirements.
  • Other related duties as necessary to ensure the smooth running and efficiency of Easter Seals South Florida as a whole.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Masters degree in education or other related field preferred or equivalent relevant experience or equivalent relevant combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum three years of work experience working with children with developmental disabilities and autism.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to communicate well with diverse populations.
  • Strong organization, time management and follow up skills.
  • Meet qualifications as established by ESSF funding sources.
  • Ability to work under pressure, maintain accuracy and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work with staff, participants and the public in a professional and concerned manner.
