About the Role:
We are seeking a self-motivated driven individual to run CNC mills and support tool control as needed. This position will also train on other equipment in the Tool Room and work towards becoming a Tool and Die Maker A.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong working knowledge of carbide, tool steel, alloy steel, brass, bronze, aluminum, and various plastics as it relates to machining and fabricating processes. Able to perform and evaluate applicable heat treating and coating processes
  • Working knowledge and understanding of P/M tooling, secondary work holding, and production gauging methods
  • Working knowledge of 3D modeling and related programming techniques.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering specifications
  • Experience with operating various machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
Responsibilities:
  • Setup and Operate CNC Vertical milling machines with a high standard of accuracy. This requires in-depth understanding of die and tooling drawings
  • Provides feedback to the Tool Room Lead and Tool Design on possible improvements
  • Repairs parts for production and tool room equipment
  • Responsible for routine maintenance and upkeep of tool room equipment
  • Capability of doing the above and running complicated jobs at the professional tool and die maker level without any supervision
  • Check out tools from Tool Control as needed to support production
