DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The UC Santa Cruz Division of Student Affairs and Success (DSAS) consists of nearly 250 team members spanning 3 major units and 21 departments. Our division provides campus-wide coordination and leadership for student success programs, activities, and initiatives.
JOB SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Associate Vice Chancellor and Dean of Students (AVC/DOS), the Associate Dean of Students & Director of Student Conduct and Conflict Education (ADOS-SCCE) manages and provides visionary leadership for the campus-wide non-academic student conduct and conflict education systems.
APPOINTMENT INFORMATION
Budgeted Salary: $134,000 - $140,000 / Annually. Salary commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience.

JOB DUTIES
40% - Leadership and Management of the Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Education
- Works collaboratively with the AVC/DOS to manage an equity-centered student conduct and conflict education programs.
- Provides visionary leadership and management for OSCCE and the development, implementation, assessment, and improvement of resolution options for student conduct concerns.
- Assumes the role of "responsible official" for initial resolution, case management, compliance and monitoring of sanctions related to allegations of the student code of conduct.
- Investigates and adjudicates disciplinary cases that may result in a student's suspension or dismissal from the university.
- Ensures consistent and responsible handling of student conduct and conflict education cases on campus.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
- Thorough knowledge of student conduct and conflict education theory and practice.
- Strong leadership skills to motivate employees and influence attitudes and behaviors.
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with students, faculty, staff and parents.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced degree in higher education, student development, conflict resolution, or another area relevant to the work of OSCCE.
- Ability to speak, read, and write in both English and at least one additional language.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Selected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment criminal history background check.
- Ability to work long periods of time at a computer with or without accommodation.
