Job Responsibilities
CAD layout and design for a variety of events in multiple venues/locations, with an emphasis on synergetic integration of large-format and widescreen graphic content.
Concept, 3D-render, and manage construction specs of stage sets and uniquely designed environments.
Manage timeline of personal workload on multiple projects.
Communicate with clients in virtual and face-to-face meetings to gain knowledge and direction.
Collaborate with technical directors, producers, and other creative team members to develop strategic design plans and choose elements that fulfill client goals while fitting within budget parameters.
Advocate for fresh design and unique solutions, pushing the team to create pieces that are memorable and attention-getting without being overdone. Should be adept in many styles, and research design trends regularly.
Ambassador for brand standards and ensure that all design abides by the directives set forth while still understanding when elements can be pushed creatively when designing new ideas.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in design-related field or equivalent experience
5 years of relevant design experience in corporate event and/or theater
Impactful portfolio (required) that presents current work in multiple mediums
Competencies:
Strong working knowledge in multiple production design fields: set design, exhibits, and
graphics (video and print). This includes an understanding of scale and spatial layout within existing spaces.
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop & Illustrator).
Proficient in CAD/3D programs (VectorWorks, Cinema 4D) to produce sketched stage design concepts, scaled white models, ground plans, elevations, and realistic 3D pre-vis renderings. Must understand scale, attendee flow and seating.
Output designs for multiple formats and mediums, including (but not limited to): PowerPoint / Keynote presentations, printed decks/booklets, widescreen animations, marketing collateral, video story boards, environmental mock-ups, etc.
Good knowledge of video formats and resolution. Video and animation skills a plus
Strong organization and time management skills; ability to multi-task, especially while traveling or on event site.
Excellent communicator (verbal and written) with ability to listen, influence, persuade and present visual ideas while exercising a high degree of tact and diplomacy with a professional yet positive approach.
Proven track record of driving entire lifecycle of any creative project, from proposal to contract to fabrication to delivery.
Able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with hard deadlines.
Willing to work some nights and weekends and travel up to 10% of the year.
Environmental Conditions and Physical Demands:
Employee required to spend a portion of time in a seated position looking at a computer screen. Employee is required to do some standing and walking. Employee is in a well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.
