Role Summary

As Subject Matter Expert for Google Workspace at Rivian, the Google Workspace Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing Google Workspace solutions for our organization. The Google Workspace Architect must exhibit leadership of the platform, collaborating with all stakeholders to understand business requirements, assess the current infrastructure, and develop strategic plans to optimize and enhance our Google Workspace environment. In this role, they will develop and maintain robust, secure, scalable, highly available, and dynamic solutions to drive business objectives.


Responsibilities

  1. Design and plan Google Workspace cloud solution architecture with security, compliance, performance, reliability, cost-optimization, and longevity as the cornerstones of decision-making.
  2. Develop and maintain Google Workspace policies and best practices.
  3. Act as a key contributor in the development and ongoing observation of success criteria, performance indicators, and services.
  4. Analyze and optimize technical and business processes using Google Workspace technologies and services.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, related field, or equivalent work experience.
  2. 3+ years of related experience, including 1+ years designing and managing solutions using Google Cloud.
  3. Associate Cloud Engineer Certification.
  4. Experience managing infrastructure using Git and Terraform.
  5. Collaborative, problem-solving mentality and behavior.
  6. Proven experience in designing and implementing cloud architecture and Google Cloud solutions to meet all requirements.
  7. Strong knowledge of Google Cloud technologies, including:
  • Google Workspace applications
  • Data storage
  • Directory services
  • App Integrations
  • Device management
  • Google Cloud Architect certification or Google Cloud certification
  • Experience as an architect (not engineering) - road mapping strategy, long-term/big picture planning and execution.
  • Leadership skills (indirect).
  • Governance of Security and Compliance.
  • Performance and Reliability.
  • Business Objectives.
  • Nice to Have:

    • Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certification.
    • Professional Google Workspace Administrator certification.
    • Scripting and automation.
    • Change Management/Migration.
