Position Summary
Dallas College is seeking an experienced, highly collaborative leader with a proven track record of enhancing academic quality, leadership excellence, and student success in a dynamic higher education environment. The Dean, Academic Compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Reports to the Associate Vice Provost of Academic Affairs.
- Coordinates research for critical THECB responses on behalf of Dallas College in support of the Associate Vice Provost of Academic Affairs.
- Works closely with the Dean of Curriculum, Catalog and Faculty Credentialing and Chief of Institutional Effectiveness and Accreditation on ensuring changes to curriculum are appropriately documented with state, federal, regional and program accreditation bodies.
- Through guidance and direction from the Associate Vice Provost of Academic Affairs, engages and leads process and procedural audits of instructional-related matters, academic services, and recommends improvements on policies, procedures, and guidelines that promote the efficiency and effectiveness of academic units.
- Ensures proper coordination and notification of instructional related actions to respective functional units (i.e. financial aid) and state and federal agencies (i.e., THECB, Department of Education, programmatic accreditors).
- Works closely with Vice Provosts, Deans, Academic Affairs and Department Chairs on ensuring faculty are informed about current educational policy.
- Adopts and expands the use of technology solutions to enhance compliance related activities.
- Serves on college task forces, committees and councils as required.
- Ability to research, collect and analyze data to make decisions.
- Completes required Dallas College Professional Development training hours per academic year.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of the purpose of community colleges and the vision of Dallas College.
- Demonstrate the capacity to apply contemporary research, best and promising practices within the areas of educational policy and compliance.
- Proficient in the use of quantitative and qualitative data to drive systemic and strategic innovations.
- Responds appropriately to issues in a dynamic rapidly changing educational/economic environment.
- An understanding of emerging technologies and the effective application of instructional-related technologies to enhance the College’s compliance-related activities.
- Self-directed, with the capacity to design own workflow, including working in fast-paced environments that require addressing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Highly collaborative leader with experience in a comparable and complex college/ university with a proven track record of enhancing academic quality, instructional excellence, and student success.
- Excellent time management, organizational and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements

Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree required.
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible teaching, administrative and educational leadership or equivalent experience.
- Prefer successful experience in compliance- related knowledge, particularly as it relates to THECB and programmatic accreditation.
- Current and valid Texas driver's license required.
- Official transcript will be required.
- Bilingual or multilingual preferred.
