Do you thrive on variety, collaboration, and facilitating solutions to hard software engineering challenges? Do you want to continually apply the best practices of your craft with peers from multiple areas of Software Development across various internal and external partners? Software Engineering - Media is a role focused on improving our media ecosystem. We collaborate with internal and external engineering teams on building new features, making necessary modifications to existing features, and resolving blocking issues in the ecosystem.

On the Developer Ecosystem Engineering team, engineers help analyze partners' products and recommend technical optimizations and standard methodologies to take advantage of our shifting technology space. We host developers for in-person sessions to unblock technical roadblocks and accelerate development. We serve as a resource for external partners and internal teams for advocating and implementing changes to improve the ecosystem. This is often focused on new, in-development technologies. We may transition between multiple platforms as external teams' challenges shift, and problems arise on iOS or macOS variants of our partners' products. We use these opportunities to further our knowledge, tackle real problems in the ecosystem, and feed these learnings back into Apple to enhance the ecosystem broadly. The daily role may consist of reverse engineering, debugging, helping other engineering teams prioritize Media relevant work, and creating content to help our audiences understand gaps and drive resolution of those gaps, via our own engineering or otherwise.
