Job Description:

One of our clients seeking a highly skilled and motivated Database Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our database systems to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security. You will collaborate with various teams to develop data solutions that support our business objectives and enhance our data infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design, implement, and maintain database systems to meet the needs of the organization.
  2. Develop and optimize database schemas, tables, and indexes to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
  3. Monitor database performance and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
  4. Ensure data integrity and security through regular backups, recovery processes, and access controls.
  5. Collaborate with software developers, data analysts, and other stakeholders to design and implement data solutions.
  6. Develop and maintain documentation for database architectures, procedures, and processes.
  7. Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.
  8. Stay updated with the latest database technologies, trends, and best practices to ensure continuous improvement of our data infrastructure.
  9. Participate in the planning and execution of data migration projects.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience as a Database Engineer, Database Administrator, or in a similar role.
  3. Strong knowledge of database management systems (DBMS) such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.
  4. Proficiency in SQL and database programming languages.
  5. Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
  6. Familiarity with data backup, recovery, and security protocols.
  7. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  8. Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  9. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  10. Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database) is a plus.
