Shift: Evenings - 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM, Mon-Fri, alternating every 3rd weekend

The role you’ll contribute: Performs complex diagnostic and analytic testing of laboratory specimens and interprets data.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
- Reads, examines, and interprets complex test results.
- Serves as a resource and addresses complex tests/procedures.
- Manages instrument maintenance and troubleshooting practices.
- Leads quality control and quality assurance testing.
- Assists with data collection and special projects, as assigned.
- Assists with department orientation and trains medical laboratory staff.
- Performs assigned pre-analytical activities related to laboratory testing.
- Performs all expected tests and analytical procedures efficiently and accurately.
- Performs post-analytical activities related to laboratory testing.
- Provides orientation and training to new employees and medical technology students.
- Provides guidance to technicians and support staff, resolution to customer service issues.
- Recognizes that the attainment of knowledge is every employee’s responsibility.
- Follows appropriate safety policies including the appropriate use of PPE.
- Performs various support activities to facilitate operation of assigned department.
- May assess competencies according to Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) regulations.
- Demonstrate competency in laboratory procedures within the scope of practice.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree medical technology or related sciences with appropriate state licensure if required or appropriate national certification.
- Two years of technical experience.
- Must hold a certification from one of the following: Medical Laboratory Scientist, Medical Technologist, or Medical Technologist from appropriate associations.
- If required by facility, licensed in specialty areas as applicable.
- Appropriate state licensure or national certification if required.
PREFERRED:
- State Medical Technologist Licensure. Licensed in at least one specialty: Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Immunohematology, Microbiology, and Serology.
