What You'll Do

IMA's Global Risk team is seeking an Account Executive to join our Global Benefits group. This person is an integral part of out Global Employee Benefits unit by acting as a key strategic leader and partnering closely with our clients and carriers. We are currently looking to add an experienced insurance professional to this dynamic team. This position is eligible for remote work.

Responsibilities May Include But Are Not Limited To

  • Train and educate internal and external stakeholders on key elements of global benefits and insurance strategy and consulting skills
  • Lead the Global Account Manager(s) and Global Account Coordinator(s) and direct their activities related to the IMA Global Benefits Practice
  • Develop & maintain proactive communication level with IMA service teams, clients, production staff and external partners. This includes handling client and/or insurance company questions/issues concerning services rendered or referring complaints of service failures to the appropriate management staff for investigation and resolution
  • Participate in preparation of new and renewal submissions and obtain underwriting information
  • Assist Managing Director with RFI and RFP responses
  • Develop a service plan tailored to client's needs with designated Producers
  • Participate in developing marketing strategy for renewals and new business including cultivating and maintaining good communication with insurance markets
  • Conduct periodic coverage and business risk reviews
  • Develop sales of additional lines of coverage or services on existing accounts
  • Responsible for collection of all account receivable items and/or review of foreign commissions in accordance with IMA Accounts Receivable Policy
  • Responsible for negotiating of service fee contracts with IMA production teams and/or external broker partners
  • Communicate to Account Managers regarding the account review information and then bind coverage information in conjunction with work-flow standards
  • Actively support the IMA global network of broker partners by engaging with WBN, Assurex, CIAB events, education committees, and conferences
  • Communicate with Global Risk & Benefits Managing Director regarding department strategies, needs, and performance
  • Maintains renewal list of global Benefits clients and Global AM assignments

You Should Have

  • 5+ years of similar or related experience
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • Previous Employee Benefits Broker/Carrier experience required
  • Ability to obtain/maintain professional insurance licensing required
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to innovate and lead initiatives
  • Ability to develop and oversee workflows
  • Ability to empower the team and facilitate collaboration
  • Motivated by building from scratch and finding creative solutions
  • Good verbal and non-verbal communicator
  • Good listener, asking thoughtful questions to create deeper understanding
  • Ability to think strategically based on team leadership need, client's priorities and marketplace cycle
  • Courtesy, tact and diplomacy as much of the work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong proficiency in computer skills and programs such as Microsoft Office. Experience understanding Applied Epic preferred.
  • Some travel required (15%)
  • Strengthens IMA brand as subject matter expert (speaking at conferences, white papers, carrier relationships, etc.)
