Product Engineer Powertrain
Job Summary:
Our client in Dearborn, MI is looking for a Product Engineer Powertrain. This is a contract position.
What You Will Do:
Document on-board diagnostic (OBD) solutions for powertrain technologies needed to meet global diagnostic regulatory requirements.

Product Engineer Powertrain
Job Summary:
Our client in Dearborn, MI is looking for a Product Engineer Powertrain. This is a contract position.
What You Will Do:
Document on-board diagnostic (OBD) solutions for powertrain technologies needed to meet global diagnostic regulatory requirements.
Project Expectations:
- Review existing HPCM (Hybrid Powertrain Control Module) OBD / diagnostic software.
- Develop DVMs (Design Verification Methods) for OBD systems.
- Develop OBD related documentation (Calibration Guidelines, Diagnostics Operations Summary, Fault Demonstration Methods/test cases, CARB decks). Diagnostic operations summary should include descriptions of how codes set, why they set, how they are turned on/off, etc.
- Execute diagnostic routines, report test results, and give recommendations to improve system reliability and durability.
- Perform HIL/SIL, on-road, emissions, and/or dynamometer data collection to validate and calibrate diagnostic monitoring capability of new powertrain technologies.
- Identify and aid in resolving OBD issues with internal and external stakeholders.
- BSEE, BSME and/or BS-Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience with OBD diagnostics and test cases.
- Experience designing, implementing, testing, debugging, and validating embedded software.
- Programming experience using modern software languages with knowledge of embedded software development tools/processes.
- Knowledge and use of Boundary Diagrams, P Diagrams, and FMEAs.
- Excel and Matlab working knowledge.
- 1 year minimum experience in automotive product development.
- Hybrid position.
- Experience with OBD diagnostics and test cases.
- Experience designing, implementing, testing, debugging, and validating embedded software.
- Programming experience using modern software languages with knowledge of embedded software development tools/processes.
- Knowledge and use of Boundary Diagrams, P Diagrams, and FMEAs.
- Excel and Matlab working knowledge.
