Overview

HILGARTWILSON, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design, is seeking a Civil Engineer-In-Training (EIT) to become a part of our growing company. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills, be highly organized, be a good problem solver, be efficient, pay good attention to detail, and be a team player. HILGARTWILSON has extensive experience providing services on many of the Valley's largest and most prestigious master-planned communities, retail, office, educational, healthcare, mixed use developments and public works projects.

Responsibilities
  • Assembling construction plans and preparing submittals for reviewing agencies.
  • Organizing and scheduling work to accomplish goals on projects within established budgets and timelines.
  • Coordination with Cad Techs and other design team members.
  • Design small, basic projects or perform task oriented design of more complex projects.
  • Research and conform to applicable city/agency design guidelines, codes and checklists.
  • Research and acquire as-built info for the horizontal and vertical design to existing constraints.
  • Layout developments based on conceptual site plans.
  • Perform vertical grading design and earthwork analysis.
  • Prepare drainage calculations.
  • Assist with preparation of feasibility studies.
  • Prepare quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.
  • Ensure quality control and work with CAD staff to ensure plans reflect the project design.
  • Perform various other design tasks under the direction others.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 0 to 4 years of experience in civil engineering design.
  • An Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification is preferred, or ability to pass the FE exam within 12 months of employment.
  • Experience in land development or site/commercial preferred.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD is required, Civil 3D is preferred.
  • Computer design skills including spreadsheets and scheduling.
  • Capable of preparing design on most project
  • Possess understanding of civil engineering principles and construction plans.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
