Travel Nurse RN - PCU in Rapid City, SD

**Experience:** Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a Progressive Care Unit or Telemetry
**License:** Registered Nurse (RN) - Board of Nursing
**Certifications:**
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
**Must-Have:**
- Experience with cardiac and vasoactive drip titration
- Cardiac rhythm interpretation
- IV starts and blood product administration
- Comfortable with catheter management and insulin drips
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
**Job Description:**
- Provide care for adults with various diagnoses, such as CHF, ARF, hepatitis, ESLD, DM, DKA, pneumonia, sepsis, and more.
- Maintain patient ratios of 1:4 for PCU/Tele and 1:5 for Med/Surg.
- Flexibility to work alongside LPNs in a team nursing model.
- Address both clinical and administrative tasks, including thorough physical assessments and strong clinical judgment.
- Engage positively and adaptably with patients and team members.
- Float to other units, including Med Surg, Ortho/Neuro/Surgical, Heart and Vascular Unit, Oncology, ICU, depending on experience.
- Manage patient care using the Epic charting system and Alaris and Omnicell equipment.
- Collaboration with a 24/7 support team, including CNA, charge nurse, phlebotomy, resource nurse, respiratory therapy, and hospitalists.
- Participate in a rotating weekend schedule, working every other weekend.
- Adhere to compliance requirements, including audits for Pre/Post Pain Scoring.
This role requires a professional bedside manner, a strong team player attitude, and adaptability. Orientation includes two days of in-class/online education and two 12-hour shifts with a preceptor.
