Job Description
You will lead a collaborative team responsible for analyzing, forecasting, and planning for future operations as part of SFO's Airport Integrated Operations Center (AIOC). The AIOC will be SFO’s 24/7 guest centric nerve center with end-to-end visibility through a common operating picture. The AIOC will be staffed with skilled teams and decision makers that set the Daily Operations Plan, mitigate pain points and share information to promote healthy airport operations. The AIOC will be more than a room with innovative technology and skilled operators; it is a mindset that drives our day-to-day operation to create a seamless and responsive travel experience for everyone. The AIOC will create an extraordinary guest experience through centralized operational control - enabling informed, data-driven decisions and managing all reported issues with care, while working in collaboration to provide a safe, secure, and seamless guest experience.
You are a highly motivated individual looking to serve as an Operations Planning Team Leader in the AIOC to bolster the organization’s objective to enhance, advance, and support all operational activities at SFO. Under direction from the AIOC Shift Leader, you will manage the Operations Planning section to drive operational planning and forecasting for flight, passenger, and airport activity, and identify potential impacts of future operational conditions to ensure that those impacts are anticipated, highlighted, and proactively communicated. You are also responsible for developing and communicating an actionable, complete, and comprehensive daily “Run of Show” for each operational period. You will drive projects that utilize data and technology to support improved decision making and will lead the production and delivery of analysis and optimization tools for the AIOC.
You are an integrated member of the AIOC and are expected to work collaboratively with all AIOC personnel in addition to SFO team members to monitor and manage future operations, solve problems, generate innovative ideas, and share information across SFO teams.
Your Impact:
Oversee, coach, and develop the Operations Planning team, including performance management and identifying proper staffing and training needs for all personnel in the section.
Lead the Operations Planning section to develop capacity in strategic and tactical operational analysis, as well as planning and process development and refinement.
Deliver data-driven performance plans for SFO operations that are focused on enhancing the AIOC’s mission and goals in support of SFO’s Strategic Plan.
Plan, develop, and implement predictive analytics tools to provide trend and forecast reports using industry-leading asset planning tools and novel applications.
Provide in-house expertise on the use of data-driven performance and resource-planning tools and best practices, enabling the continuous development of efficient resource plans to deliver a predictable world-class experience.
Oversee the development and communication of operational forecasts, asset plans, and predictive intelligence briefs.
Collaborate with SFO’s Planning & Environmental Affairs team to coordinate, plan, and develop long-term physical and operational plans where impacts extend beyond the AIOC.
Provide real-time flash reports as needed when an unexpected event occurs and significant changes affecting KPIs, operations, or function performance are detected.
Define and drive new and innovative projects and collaborate with other AIOC personnel to predictively enhance operations in real time.
Lead the development and implementation of a culture of planning, monitoring, and reviewing principles within the Operations Planning section along with other internal and external business partners.
Collaborate with AIOC and SFO staff to identify opportunities to increase information sharing across the stakeholder community including external parties.
Identify opportunities to cultivate cross-functional initiatives, plans, or processes that lead to optimization and improvement opportunities.
Drive standards compliance and viability of AIOC sections through sound operations research management, business process management, and continuous improvement management practices.
Perform other functions outlined in the 0923 – Manager II job classification.
