Position Overview:

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will manage the Manufacturing Engineering team to ensure they are working closely and in line with all other engineering departments to ensure the proper implementation of new manufacturing processes, procedures, and specifications are in place on the production floor. A major part of this role is working with Project Engineering Planning and production teams to ensure production readiness of all orders going to the production floor. This includes attending design reviews and complexity reviews and reviewing complexity ratings and orders in the backlog for completeness. Additionally, they will review, evaluate, and oversee Manufacturing Engineering projects and ensure the team responds to MRBs cases with the utmost urgency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Maintain a safe working environment.
2. Ensure production readiness of all orders delivered to the production floor.
3. Work with vendors, suppliers, and contractors.
4. Work as a cross-functional team member.
5. Lead a cross-functional team.
6. Develop, refine, and document testing processes.
7. Develop, refine, and document manufacturing processes.
8. Provide continuous improvement on products & processes (using Lean and 6-sigma techniques).
9. Design and develop fixtures for assembly and testing.
10. Perform failure analysis and problems solving to determine root-cause.
11. Implement corrective actions to eliminate root-cause failures.
12. Identify and implement tools to increase product throughput and lower cost.
13. Perform other duties as required by the business.

Education and Experience:

1. Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in engineering.
2. Minimum three years of related manufacturing experience.
3. Management experience required.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Ability to lead teams.
2. Excellent coaching skills and the ability to transfer knowledge to engineers, assembly, and test technicians.
3. Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
4. Working knowledge of CAD and 3-D solid modeling.
5. Excellent understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts.
6. Working knowledge of MS Office programs, i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook.
7. Program and project management experience.
