Unit Description
Sodexo is seeking an experienced Director, Data Solutions - Governance for the North American region to lead and manage our data governance initiatives. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive data governance strategy focused on Azure technologies to ensure the quality, integrity, and security of our data assets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data management, excellent leadership skills, and a strategic mindset.
This is a remote role with the preferred candidate residing in the Eastern Time Zone.
The successful candidate will:
- Develop and Implement Data Governance Strategy: Create and execute a comprehensive data governance strategy for the North American region that aligns with the company's business goals and objectives.
- Establish Data Policies and Standards: Define, document, and enforce data policies, standards, and procedures, with a focus on Azure technologies, to ensure the quality, integrity, and security of data assets.
- Data Quality Management: Oversee data quality initiatives to identify, assess, and resolve data quality issues, ensuring accurate and reliable data across the organization.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure data governance practices comply with relevant North American regulations and standards, and manage data-related risks effectively.
- Data Stewardship: Promote data stewardship practices across the organization, encouraging data ownership and accountability at all levels.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with regional leadership, global teams, and other regions to foster collaboration and ensure alignment on data governance initiatives.
- Customer Focus: Collaborate with key stakeholders, including customers, to understand their data needs and ensure data governance strategies enhance customer satisfaction and business outcomes.
- Leadership and Team Building: Lead and mentor a team of data governance professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver training programs to educate staff on data governance principles and best practices.
- Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success of data governance initiatives.
Is this the right Opportunity for you? We are looking for candidates that have/are:
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Management, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
- Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in data management, data governance, or related roles.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing data governance strategies.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.
- Prior experience leading teams in data space, sales & marketing, and finance is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with Azure technologies and tools.
- Knowledge of relevant North American regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Knowledge and skills in SAFe, ITIL, PMP, and Six Sigma are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Data Management or Data Governance (e.g., CDMP, DGSP).
- Experience in Manufacturing, Finance, Healthcare, Food Services, Services.
