Draftsman (Drawing Checker)

Kratos Defense & Rocket Support Services, Inc. is currently seeking a Draftsman that will prepare complex mechanical drawings and diagrams from existing models and sketches. The successful candidate must be proficient in ASME-Y14.100 drawing standards and dimensioning and tolerancing per ASME Y14.5-2009. Maintain and update configuration control database of in production CAD models and Drawings. Update/reformate existing drawings to conform to current standards. Track and implement all redlines and engineering change orders.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Primary Function: Check Drawings for GD&T and overall manufacturability using Solid-Works software
• Secondary Function: Create part and assembly level drawing packages from existing CAD models
• Experience in working with PDM systems and possesses strong understanding of configuration management principles
• Ability to analyze engineering change requests and redlines to determine changes/modifications needed to the drawing packages

Other Job Functions:

• Prepare spreadsheets and other written correspondence
• Other duties may be assigned

Required Experience:

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• 5-10 years of experience as a Draftsman
• Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards
• Effectively interact with peers and supervisors as well as public when necessary
• Adherence to workplace rules
• Skillful at and evaluating information in preparation of drawings
• Experience preparing drawings using SolidWorks
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
