REGISTRAR AND MANAGER, COLLECTIONS , List Visual Arts Center , to serve as the primary custodian of the Institute’s three distinct permanent collections of contemporary and modern art. This highly independent role manages inventory and active loans in a digital collection management database; arranges and coordinates the shipping, conservation, framing, packing, and insurance for all artworks from the collection and that which is on loan for exhibition; directs storage and logistics; handles image licensing and rights where required; monitors conditions, ensures safety, and assesses/arranges conservation needs; oversees insurance and updates valuations as needed; manages related conservation budgets; accessions new works; liaises with MIT Facilities and supervises technicians or contractors hired for maintenance or conservation as needed; and provides supervision of a campus collections preparator and contracted installation staff.
