POSITION SUMMARY
The successful implementation of construction technology ensures our project teams perform as effectively as possible and helps Alberici maintain its position as a leader in the construction industry. The Director of Field Technology and Innovation plays a crucial role in identifying, researching and vetting innovative Construction Field Technologies (CFT) to positively affect safety, quality, and the effectiveness of the overall construction process. Through strategic planning and communication with company leadership, the director is responsible for maintaining financial goals of the department and ensuring consistent adoption of CFT across projects.

- Tracks existing technology investments for changes and improvements, including testing and implementation of updates.
- Conducts research, pilots, proofs of concepts, and case studies on leading edge technologies and makes recommendations on implementation.
- Maintains active catalog and valuation of hardware and software systems.
- Undertakes market research to determine industry conditions, trends, opportunities, competition, and growth.
- Leads CFT net revenue generation efforts and ensures the fiscal health, efficiency, and effectiveness through sustainable offerings that contribute to the organization's bottom line.
- Develops and implements a CFT strategic plan with performance indicators, in partnership with Senior Management Group (SMG), to support the Alberici corporate strategic plan.
- Fosters collaboration, partnerships, and the sharing of information and expertise with other company departments and initiatives.
- Engages with project executives, project managers, and other team members to establish a budget and plan of execution on projects.
- Develops trainings, SOPs and workflows for newly adopted construction field technology.
- Ensure all CFT initiatives and services are managed within goals, timelines and budgets through regular monitoring and report outs to the SMG.
- Ensures consistent implementation and SOP compliance of construction field technologies.
- Applies technical knowledge to identify areas of improvement in the construction process.
- Oversees the Innovation Committee and promotes interest in innovative tech.
- Travels to Company and subsidiary offices; offsite client, subcontractor, and supplier meetings; and other locations across North America to fulfill the essential duties of the role as required.
- Regular and reliable attendance in person as required by your Supervisor, Company guidelines, or project and office obligations.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- Models and reinforces safety as a top priority of the organization. Always wears a hard helmet and other appropriate personal protective equipment in the field.
- Ensures client satisfaction, both internally and externally, through efficient handling of issues.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Utilizes Microsoft Office-based applications and other software systems appropriate for this role.
- Proficiency with construction management applications such as Bluebeam, Procore, or other similar software programs.
- Extensive exposure to VDC technologies such as Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and other similar software systems.
- Effectively presents information to clients, top management, public groups and boards of directors.
- Proven leadership experience and expertise within construction technology and innovation.
- Possesses highly developed analytical skills, writing and presentation skills, and ability to communicate with business, industry and technology leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to cultivate and influence current and future processes and technologies to enhance project performance and value to clients.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree at an accredited college or university, or equivalent work experience.
- 8+ years of construction industry or strong technology and innovation experience.
- Trainer/instructor experience preferred.
