STAFFING SPECIALIST

Position Overview:
The Staffing Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring optimal staffing levels and seamless coverage across our diverse residential facilities and programs. They will be responsible for supporting and meticulously tracking the recruitment, screening, and onboarding process for direct support positions, managing overtime, coordinating with temporary agencies, and maintaining comprehensive tracking sheets and reports on various staffing metrics.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough pre-screening and interviews for direct support positions to ensure the selection of qualified candidates.
Monitor and manage overtime reports to ensure alignment with organizational policies and budgetary constraints.
Serve as the primary liaison for temporary agencies, facilitating the seamless placement and coordination of temporary staff.
Oversee the relief pool to ensure prompt coverage for vacant shifts and emergencies while actively minimizing overtime expenditures.
Maintain meticulous tracking sheets and provide detailed reports on vacancies, overtime statistics, and the process of credential relief for temporary staff transitioning to full-time roles.
Manage accurate and up-to-date employee and temporary staff rosters, including comprehensive information on credentials, training status, and availability.
Track and coordinate onboarding and training schedules for new hires, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
Collaborate closely with department managers to forecast staffing needs, identify trends, and address any staffing-related challenges or concerns effectively.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma (HSD) or equivalent (GED).
Previous experience in staffing, recruitment, or human resources management, preferably within the OPWDD (Office for People With Developmental Disabilities) setting.
Thorough knowledge of relevant employment laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for creating and managing tracking sheets and reports.
Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Proven ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated compassion, empathy, and a steadfast commitment to serving individuals with developmental disabilities.
Compensation:
This is full-time position based in our office. We offer a competitive medical package, generous time off and holiday pay. 403B contribution begins immediately!!

Salary: 35k to 45K to commensurate with experience.
