We're currently searching for a Health Promotion Coordinator to join our Hokie Wellness team in Blacksburg, VA to help us in our mission. So, if you're passionate about supporting student success and well-being, please keep reading.
HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE ROLE:
1) You'll be joining the Hokie Wellness team; a department centered on fostering a healthier Virginia Tech community by providing prevention services, education, outreach, and resources to employees and students.
2) You'll be reporting to the Assistant Director for Health Education, in a Regular twelve-month, 100% administrative professional appointment.
3) You'll be responsible for supporting student success, well-being, and personal development by assessing need, creating and implementing programming, and evaluation of health promotion strategies, policies, programs, interventions, and services.
4) You'll focus 50% on digital well-being, and 50% in the areas of nutrition, sexual health, sleep, body image, and other general health education topics by utilizing evidence-based and theory-driven health promotion initiatives.
5) You'll provide/assist the Assistant Director of Health Education with student staff supervision, including graduate student(s) and the peer educator team.
6) You'll support large Hokie Wellness events, such as WellFest, Bash on the Boardwalk, Sexapalooza, etc. and will work with various campus partners to collaborate on programming and serve as a content expert in those areas.
7) You'll have the chance to grow and take advantage of a developmental plan with opportunities to advance within the Department and the Division.
8) You'll be offered a base compensation package between $45,000 - $47,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package which includes health insurance, paid leave, retirement, tuition assistance, VT discounts, and so much more!

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in health education, health promotion, public health, human development, psychology, or related field.
• Experience creating and leading training sessions/professional development opportunities.
• Experience assessing need, designing, implementing, and evaluating programs that focus on a variety of health and wellness topics.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects, while meeting deadlines and maintaining a high quality of work.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with public speaking experience; small group facilitation; and 1:1 coaching.
• Commitment to inclusive programming and creating a sense of belonging for all students.
Preferred Qualifications
• Master's degree in health education, health promotion, public health, human development, psychology, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience.
• Graduate assistantships can count towards years of experience.
• Prior experience working in health promotion/education in a higher education setting.
• CHES certification preferred.
• Health coaching experience.
• Prior experience collecting and working with both quantitative and qualitative data/research methods.
