SUMMARY OF POSITION

Provides case management services for an assigned caseload. Works closely with people we serve and/or their families. Communicates with staff, vendors and the community. Organizes and resolves work-related situations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. At least three to five years of experience with multidisciplinary teams for health, developmental, psychological/behavioral and social services expertise.
  2. Strong leadership and management skills.
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Knowledge of license/certification requirements for multidisciplinary specialists.
  5. Knowledge of federal, state, county and local regulatory requirements for services, care and treatment of intellectual disabilities.
  6. Knowledge of current practices and procedures for assessment, evaluation and program planning for intellectually disabled people we serve and families.
  7. Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and delegate when appropriate.
  8. Ability to negotiate, formulate and implement individual and agency contractual agreements in accordance with agency policy.
  9. Experience with grant writing and other fund procurement methods/activities.
  10. Ability to rapidly develop programs and services to conform to new legislation, grants and other mandates from regulatory agencies.
  11. Ability to integrate and synthesize all clinical components to complement and enhance service coordination.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Chief must have strong supervisory skills managing over 40 staff and consultants. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; monitoring budgets and scope of work for compliance with grant funded programs; other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Licensed clinical specialist with a Master’s Degree in Nursing, Psychology, Social Work, Special Education or a related human services field. Seven to five years management experience of which at least 3 years is in a clinical setting working with multidisciplinary teams.
