Facility Management Corporation, known as “FMC Ice Sports” was formed in 1992 to deliver high quality ice sport facility management and operations, as well as ice-based programs that benefit our communities and promote interest in both hockey and skating. We have established a record of quality operations and have grown to be the largest operator of public arenas in the United States. FMC operates 25 public ice skating arenas across the state of Massachusetts in partnership agreements with the Commonwealth and various municipalities as well as educational institutions.

As the Concession Supervisor , you will be responsible for running the on-site operations of our East Boston Ice Arena, Somerville Ice Arena, and Cambridge Ice Arena concession stands including the cashiers, cooking, and prep areas. You will oversee stands cleanliness/neatness, product quality, inventory, customer service, stand safety, food safety, and alcohol service (where applicable). Must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work an event-based schedule.

Full-time 75% (30 hours/week) position. Eligible for medical, dental, vision, HSA, 401K, and earned time after eligibility period is met.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • HS diploma or equivalent.
  • Serve Safe Certified or willingness to become certified.
  • Previous experience in food handling, sanitation, and customer service is preferred.
  • Detail oriented, ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Ability to be self-directed while working in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and long hours.
  • Ability to adapt to new procedures and work as a team to improve efficiency and quality of the concession stands.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within a food service environment is highly preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise day-to-day operations of three concession stands, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
  • Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed to meet customer demand; work with the Food and Beverage Manager to continuously improve these procedures.
  • In coordination with the Food and Beverage Manager, recruit, hire, and train concession stand staff, providing ongoing coaching and performance feedback.
  • Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during operation hours.
  • Monitor and enforce food safety and sanitation standards, following health department regulations and FMC Standards.
  • Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with management to develop promotional strategies and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Perform regular inspections of concession stands to ensure cleanliness, organization, and compliance with safety standards.
  • Prepare and analyze sales and inventory reports to identify opportunities for improvement and cost control.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the Concession operation as directed by the Food and Beverage Manager.

Compensation: Base pay range: $18 - $22 per hour. Starting rate is based upon the concessions "level" of operation. Eligible for annual increase of 2% - 4% based upon performance.
