Job Title: Grants Coordinator
Position Summary: The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research ("the Foundation") is seeking top talent for its Grants Coordinator positions. These positions play a pivotal role in supporting the core functions of grantmaking and grants administration as part of the Research Operations department. With a unique perspective across the organization, the department works closely with program teams and partners with finance, technology, and other departments to facilitate grantmaking and manage projects and programs in alignment with the Foundation's mission.
These roles collaborate with the Research team to provide essential support throughout the entire grantmaking process, ensuring efficient administrative assistance at each stage. Additionally, these roles offer technical guidance and customer service to prospective applicants, current grantees, and the broader research community.
The Foundation is hiring two Grants Coordinators to join the team. These are hybrid-flex positions that will require in-person attendance on a semi-regular basis at MJFF's office in New York City.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Grants Administration:
  • Support pre-award grantmaking during the application and proposal development process where required
  • Provide meticulous administrative review of submitted proposals to ensure they conform with program requirements
  • Assist program staff with the collection of required confidentiality agreement and manage confidential information with discretion
  • Communicate with prospective applicants regarding application guidelines, grantmaking policies and provide technical assistance where needed to meaningfully participate in the Foundation's offerings
  • Accurately and efficiently create and/or update application records
  • Support post-award lifecycle during the funding and/or active project management stages by assisting program staff with award contract execution
  • Review and track grant payments and refunds, troubleshoot payment issues, enter payment confirmations, and connect with grantees to request grant/payment documentation and/or to confirm payment details
General:
  • Support efforts to train other team members on grant-related processes and procedures
  • Support team initiatives and special projects as needed/required
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Knowledge of administrative functions, grant management, or non-profit operations
  • Keen eye for detail and an interest in creating efficiencies
  • Ability and interest in learning new systems, excited about using technology as a tool to streamline processes
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Action-oriented, solutions-focused, and proven team-advocate
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and balance multiple priorities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
Salary and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $70,000. In addition to salary, The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
