About the Role
We are looking for a Junior Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in San Diego, CA. You will be hired to help design and maintain reliable systems at scale in the cloud. Our infrastructure runs on AWS and other cloud platforms. We currently utilize RDS, EC2, DynamoDB, Lambda, and AWS IoT, to name a few. Prior experience with managing VPCs is a huge plus. A large portion of our infrastructure is containerized with Docker and we’re ramping up Kubernetes. Everything is configured with Terraform and Chef. Deployments are fully automated via Jenkins.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide highly available and scalable cloud infrastructure
- Build foundational infrastructure for other teams to deploy and run their applications
- Look for ways to reduce toil through scripting and automation
- Solve technical problems in increasingly complex environments
- Help to define and improve our standards for maintainability and best practices
- Participate in 24/7 on-call shift schedule for infrastructure support
Experience
- 1 year Operational knowledge of AWS, Azure or GCP cloud infrastructure
- 1 year using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Terragrunt, Atlantis)
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and containerization best practices (EKS, AKS)
- Experience with monitoring and observability of applications (Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager)
- Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of a scripting language (e.g. bash, Python)
- Strong desire to automate and create standard frameworks

This is an exempt role. Our job titles for each posting may span across more than one job level. The estimated base salary for this role is between $75,000 and $126,000. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target range for new hire base salaries across all US locations. Compensation packages are based on many factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, work experience, relevant trainings and certifications, business needs, market demands and specific geographical location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, and benefits.
