Work Location: Remote – IL with travel to PA or NYC as needed

What You’ll Do:

As the Compliance Audit Director at a fast-paced, technology-forward bank, you will lead a dynamic team to ensure the bank remains at the forefront of regulatory compliance and risk management. In this pivotal role, you’ll leverage cutting-edge technology and data analytics to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the compliance audit program, delivering strategic insights to protect and strengthen the bank’s operations.

  1. Lead and Innovate: Spearhead the development and execution of the bank’s compliance audit strategy, utilizing the latest audit tools and technology.
  2. Ensure Compliance at Speed: Oversee compliance audits across all business units, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards (e.g., OCC, FDIC, FRB).
  3. Collaborate Across Functions: Partner closely with business leaders and senior executives to embed compliance into all operations.
  4. Enhance Risk Management: Lead the identification and evaluation of compliance risks.
  5. Drive Regulatory Excellence: Maintain and strengthen relationships with regulatory bodies and external auditors.
  6. Mentor and Develop Talent: Lead a high-performing compliance audit team by fostering a culture of innovation.
  7. Champion Continuous Improvement: Constantly assess and improve audit processes.
  8. Leverage Data and Technology: Use state-of-the-art audit software and data analytics tools.
  9. Provide Strategic Insights: Deliver concise, impactful reports to senior management and the board on audit findings.

What Do You Need?

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
  • Certifications: Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), or similar certifications preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in compliance auditing within the banking industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership or director-level role.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of relevant banking regulations.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical Skills: Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Technological Proficiency: Experience with Actimize and audit management software.
