The Opportunity
ConnexPay is actively seeking a high-performing VP of Sales focused on markets in the Americas. The primary focus of this individual contributor role is to perform activities that directly lead to new revenue generation with autonomy in a truly greenfield opportunity. The successful candidate will have ownership, maintenance, and communication of a sales pipeline in defined verticals to deliver revenue goals. Candidates should have excellent communication skills, consultative sales experience, strong organizational skills, and an ability to learn quickly and on the fly. This position will report into the Head of Global Sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new sales opportunities throughout defined verticals, which may include online consumer marketplaces, travel agencies, media and ad buying agencies, insurance brokers, ticket brokers, or other types of intermediaries with a web presence.
  • Own the full sales cycle from pipeline building to the first live transaction.
  • Use data to accurately measure and report KPIs to build sales strategies that meet/exceed sales goals.
  • Work collaboratively with assigned implementation managers to ensure seamless transition for support and account management.
  • Collaborate with ConnexPay's Technology, Operations, and Finance teams to support new customer needs.
  • Attend relevant company or industry events to increase brand awareness, win new customers, and maximize sales conversion.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Between 5-10 years of experience in roles such as direct sales/account executive/director of sales.
  • Experience in payments, e-commerce, SaaS, financial technology, or banking preferred.
  • Understanding of the Payments Industry; specifically issuing Virtual Credit Cards (VCCs).
  • A quick learner willing to work both independently and as part of a team — with outside partners when needed.
  • Strong client-facing skills that foster positive communications and trust with new customers.
  • Experience working with geographically dispersed, highly motivated, and innovative teams.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based tools (Office 365, SharePoint, etc.).
  • A startup mindset with a positive attitude, highly resilient, flexible, and customer-oriented, with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to travel 10% to 25% (when appropriate).
  • Bilingual is a plus (Spanish and/or French language skills desirable).
