Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world’s leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking to hire a New Business Analyst in the Client/Matter Administration Department. Reporting to the New Business Manager, this position will focus efforts on assisting Partners, Associates, and support staff in identifying potential conflict issues and New Business-related information.
This position will reside in the Los Angeles office with a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule. Daily hours are Monday through Friday, 10:30 am to 7 pm (Pacific Standard Time).
Key responsibilities:
- Processes new client and matter reports associated with proposed new business.
- Performs conflict analysis on all proposed new client representations and facilitates proper communication and coordination of issues related to New Business Intake.
- Proactively communicates with Firm Attorneys and support staff in each office to understand conflicts of interest issues and independently reviews, researches, and resolves conflicts issues related to firm new business.
- Composes written and verbal correspondence with Attorneys and other support staff.
- Answers telephone and email inquiries for new business status requests.
- Proofreads and re-checks material to confirm accuracy.
- Performs research, locating material from various sources inside and outside the Firm.
- Enters ongoing status information and maintains online documentation in the database.
- Ensures compliance with ethics related to firm policies and procedures.
- Serves as a collaborative team member across the New Business department, including providing additional coverage during absences and leaves as necessary.
- Processes Preliminary Search and analysis requests after east coast coverage ends.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and two years’ experience preferably in a professional services setting. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Excellent project management and research skills.
- Ability to concentrate clearly on highly detailed information, identify conflicts of interest questions, resolve them in a consensus environment, and keep confidential information regarding Firm New Business matters.
- A strong knowledge of MS Office products and Internet research methods.
- The successful applicant will also have excellent organizational skills; effective written and oral communication skills; the ability to take initiative and contribute new ideas; the ability to interact effectively with all levels of Firm management and staff; the capability to exercise sound judgment and work well under pressure; and the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
- Flexibility to work overtime is required.

For positions in Los Angeles, CA, the salary range for this job posting is $66,070.00 - $105,712.00. The base salary or hourly wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. Additionally, salary or hourly wages may be only part of the total compensation package. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
