Our client located in Dallas, TX is in need of a Senior VP of Compliance. This is a direct hire opportunity. The company is offering a large relocation package and housing support if needed. For the right candidate, they'd offer the title of Chief Legal Officer.

Senior Vice President of Compliance Role:
As the Senior Vice President of Compliance, you will spearhead our compliance team, overseeing a broad spectrum of regulatory, legal, and corporate compliance tasks within the life, health, and annuity sectors. This pivotal role ensures adherence to all relevant regulations and standards, safeguarding our company’s operations and reputation.

  1. Lead and manage the compliance team, serving as the company's primary compliance officer.
  2. Oversee and ensure timely submission of company filings and policy forms in accordance with state insurance regulations.
  3. Apply expertise in interstate compact regulations, SERFF, and UCAA systems to maintain regulatory compliance.
  4. Supervise compliance at our third-party administrators (TPAs), ensuring alignment with state insurance regulations.
  5. Create, distribute, and file necessary documentation with Departments of Insurance (DOIs) as required.
  6. Monitor and implement changes in regulatory requirements, ensuring company operations adapt accordingly.
  7. Review and approve advertising to ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines.
  8. Address and manage complaints and litigation, including those from the Department of Insurance, serving as the corporate contact for such matters.
  9. Maintain and oversee the complaint log, acting as the liaison between state insurance examiners and the company.
  10. Respond to requests and review draft and final reports, ensuring resolution of operational deficiencies.
  11. Manage the creation and timely completion of all required UCAA corporate filings related to insurance operations.
  12. Provide expertise in reviewing life insurance contestable claims, focusing on misrepresentation, fraud, and other critical factors.

Senior Vice President of Compliance Background Profile:
Preferred Juris Doctorate (JD). Alternatively, a degree in Business Administration or Operations.
At least 10 years of experience in legal and regulatory compliance within the individual life, health, and annuity markets.
Relevant insurance industry certifications (e.g., LOMA, NASD Series 6, 26, and 63) and Broker-Dealer experience.
Proven experience with UCAA and SERFF systems is essential.
Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas: individual life, health, and annuity markets.
Experience in staff management and handling consumer complaints.
Strong track record in communication with state departments of insurance.

Job Requirements

Juris Doctorate (JD) degree is preferred; otherwise, Business Administration or Operations.
10+ years legal and regulatory compliance experience in the individual Life, Health, and Annuity market segments.
LOMA or other insurance home office training designations and/or NASD designations (including Series 6, 26, and 63) as well as Broker-Dealer experience.
Direct experience with the UCAA and SERFF systems is a must-have.
Experience in a minimum of one of these key areas is required: individual life, health, and annuity markets.
