Growth Analytics & AI within Humana is dedicated to transforming members' journeys and Humana's services using technology and analytics. We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist who will utilize cutting-edge AI, NLP, GenAI techniques, build predictive modeling, test rigorous hypotheses, design studies, and turn data into actionable insights. The Senior Data Scientist will work cross-functionally and collaboratively with teams across the enterprise through innovative AI, machine learning, and R&D platforms. The scope of our work includes forecasting, predictive modeling, designing business experiments, and ROI studies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with healthcare data and demonstrated innovative methods for overcoming testing constraints.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and validate machine learning and statistical models, predictions, reports, and presentations to support business strategy and tactics.
  2. Develop, maintain, and collect structured and unstructured data sets for analysis and reporting.
  3. Research and evaluate innovative analytical methodologies, approaches, and solutions.
  4. Collaborate with analytics and data teams to set objectives, approaches, and work plans.
  5. Interpret and communicate analytic results to analytical and non-analytical business partners.
  6. Compile and present regular and ad-hoc project status reports.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Master's Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
  2. 3+ years of experience in advanced data analytics.
  3. Experience with Python, R, SAS, SQL, DataRobot or similar statistical and scripting tools.
  4. Experience developing and validating machine learning and statistical forecasting models.
  5. Experience interpreting and communicating analytic results to both analytical and non-analytical business partners.
  6. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  7. Ability to exercise independent judgment on moderately complex to complex issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. PhD in a quantitative discipline.
  2. Healthcare or managed care experience.
  3. Experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP).
  4. Experience in cloud computing, Azure or AWS.

Work-At-Home Requirements:

To ensure effective work from home, employees must have a self-provided internet service with a minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Pay Range: $104,800 - $144,300 per year. This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan.
