As a Principal Product Manager, Tech, you will drive the Amazon Echo roadmap. You will define and deliver the next generation of Echo devices in the home.

This role is inherently cross-functional -- you will work closely with engineering, design, operations, finance, and executive teams to bring features and products to market and develop and grow business opportunities for Amazon.com.

A successful candidate will be a big thinker, empathetic leader, results-oriented, and highly analytical. This candidate will be able to work extremely effectively in a matrix organization, and adept at synthesizing a variety of technologies and capabilities into high-quality, simple products and experiences that customers love.

Key job responsibilities

1. Set the vision and strategy for Amazon Echo. Define, build, and launch the next generation of Echo devices.
2. Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues that may impair the team’s ability to meet strategic, financial, and technical goals.
3. Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners.
4. Define use cases, requirements, and prioritization for Echo device capabilities. Work with partner teams to deliver new and creative Alexa experiences through devices.
5. Learn and be curious about the technology roadmap that can shape the future of devices.
6. Develop detailed, crisp business requirements and user stories that can be used to create product specifications and architecture for each product.
7. Manage prioritization and trade-offs among customer experience, performance, and operational support load.
8. Work closely with engineering teams and program management to deliver products to market.
9. Drive product launches including working with the public relations team, executives, and other product management team members.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

1. 8+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development, or technology experience.
2. Bachelor's degree.
3. Experience with feature delivery and trade-offs of a product.
4. Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition.
5. Experience with end-to-end product delivery.
6. Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product.
7. Experience in technical product management.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements.
2. Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement.
