JOB SUMMARY

The Manager Logistics is responsible for the safe handling, packaging and shipping of all products from facility to customer; as well as receiving and handling of goods from suppliers. Communicates with internal management and external freight companies to ensure that product is shipped in a safe, efficient and timely manner. Must be self-motivated and often manage a small crew of helpers working within the time constraints of the master production schedule while adhering to the company quality policies.

SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES - Essential Functions

  • Responsible for managing outbound deliveries including packaging, loading and transportation for both production and spare parts.
  • Responsible for goods receiving department.
  • Communicate with the freight companies via phone and email to plan and schedule trucks to pick up products to ship and deliver goods on time per the master schedule.
  • Create and maintain packaging procedures and ensure that the packaging is in alignment with the Adient Aerospace documents and specs.
  • Plan and monitor inbound and outgoing deliveries.
  • Research ideal shipping techniques, routing, and carriers.
  • Supervise receiving, transportation, packaging, and shipping staff.
  • Create, maintain, and drive improvement through Key Performance Indicators.
  • Promote safety, cooperation, and communication with co-workers.
  • Train operators to the required level of expertise when required.
  • Work with the various internal departments to ensure all documents and policies are in line to support the shipment.
  • Keep the dedicated shipping area as a safe and effective environment while using best practices when using hand tools such as staplers and strapping equipment.
  • Competent when using a computer for various tasks such as emailing, ordering packaging and viewing the master schedule.
  • Report any defects to the Quality department witnessed when packaging.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS – Education, Knowledge, and Experience

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience:

  • 8+ years of related and similar level experience.

Skills:

  • Strong PC skills in Windows applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to deliver group presentations.
  • Ability to effectively interface with all levels of staff and management.
  • Strong organization, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

  • Direction is provided for assignments in terms of desired outcome (goals), timing and budget. Work is reviewed or measured in terms of meeting organizational objectives and schedules.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY

  • Oversees the work of others. Assists in the training and coaching of project team members as assigned. Assist in driving the achievement of key initiatives of the project.

PROBLEM SOLVING

  • Develop and provide solutions to complex problems based on established precedents and are consistent with organization objectives.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Adient Aerospace offers competitive wages and benefits to recognize employees for their work. The base pay offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, experience and take into account internal equity.

Salary Range Transparency: $95,000 - $115,000 annually.
