Responsibilities
- Creates CAD/BIM implementation plans and initiates CAD/BIM platform setup.
- Establishes documented processes, procedures, and workflows. (e.g., file organization, design review)
- Manages a team of CAD and BIM designers and technicians.
- Develops and lead CAD and BIM management, in accordance with project requirements and client standards, and in support of the overall vision and initiatives of projects
- Manages the interoperability of CAD/BIM and design/engineering tools.
- Acts as the CAD/BIM expert and serves as the primary point of contact for architects, engineers, designers, and other consultants.
- Performs quality control in conformance with the quality management plan.
- Identifies and proposes options for improvement or resolution of issues and relates those solutions.
- Anticipates problems, concerns, issues, and suggestions in advance and communicates and reviews with senior leadership promptly.
- Works with vendors of all disciplines on content download and updates to the standards.
- Develops job knowledge and technical expertise through participation in educational and professional development opportunities.
- Assumes ownership of his/her work both internally and externally.
- Bachelor's degree and 15+ years of experience in architectural/engineering design
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 software, including SharePoint
- Proficient with CAD and BIM standards and procedures
- Proficient with major CAD and BIM platforms, including AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, MicroStation, BIM 360, and NavisWorks
- Experience creating and administering CAD and BIM management plans, procedures, and working environments
- Ability to understand the specific CAD and BIM scope of each project for each discipline
- Entrepreneurial attitude toward problem-solving
- Exhibits a professional demeanor with clients and coworkers
- Experience managing CAD and BIM designers and training users
- Master's or other advanced degree or experience in engineering and/or architectural design
- 5+ years' experience managing CAD files
- Demonstrated ability to train others
- Experience with transportation, engineering, and design
