ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  • Install, diagnose, repair, maintain and upgrade all store technologies such as point of sales systems, desktop PCs, network equipment and peripherals such as bar code scanners and printers.
  • Work with store personnel, Terrible Herbst maintenance department, and Operations in resolving facility related issues that impacts store technologies within a 24/7 environment.
  • Identifies, researches and resolves technical problems in conjunction with other Terrible Herbst Inc. Information Technology personnel.
  • Works with hardware/software vendors to ensure equipment and software are running to optimal standards.
  • Support C-Store Audio/Visual equipment - Video walls, Bright Sign, cabling, installation, TV mounting, audio systems
  • Required minimum 1 week/7 day on call rotation afterhours for store emergencies.
  • Complies with and helps to enforce standard policies and procedures with respect to Terrible Herbst Inc. Information Systems requirements and PCI DSS standards.
  • Must pass background check and qualify to drive long distances in company owned vehicle.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Associates degree or Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a multi-site, convenience/petroleum store environment.
  • At least 2 years of experience with Gilbarco, VeriFone or comparable point of sale and/or customer self-service equipment.
  • Experience with back office retail accounting systems
  • CompTIA A+ Certification
  • CompTIA Network+ Certification
  • Gilbarco Certification (Provided by Terrible Herbst). A passing score is required.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Self-motivated individual who can at times think outside the box to approach to problem solving.
  • The ability to problem solve quickly and professionally.
  • The ability to drive long distances.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
