Attorney Recruiting Manager - Chicago Law Firm - Hybrid - $125-135k

Overview

The Attorney Recruiting Manager will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive strategy to attract top law students to the firm. This role requires a strong understanding of the legal industry, law schools, and student recruiting trends. The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and Implement Recruitment Strategy: Create, implement, and manage the firm’s overall student recruitment strategy, including summer associate, law clerk, and early talent programs.
  • Law School Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with law schools, faculty, and career services offices.
  • On-Campus Recruiting: Coordinate and execute on-campus recruiting efforts, including attending career fairs, conducting information sessions, and interviewing potential candidates.
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Develop and implement initiatives to attract a diverse pool of law students.
  • Candidate Assessment: Evaluate candidate qualifications and recommend top talent for further consideration.
  • Offer Extension and Negotiation: Participate in the offer extension process and negotiate terms with successful candidates.
  • Event Planning and Coordination: Plan and execute recruitment events, such as summer associate receptions and diversity events.
  • Budget Management: Manage the student recruitment budget and track expenses.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Track and analyze recruitment metrics to measure program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Team Management: Oversee and mentor a team of recruitment coordinators or interns.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in legal recruiting, preferably in a law firm setting.
  • Strong understanding of the legal industry and law school landscape.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and applicant tracking systems.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
