The Permanente Federation LLC (the Federation) is the national leadership and consulting organization for the eight Permanente Medical Groups (PMGs), which, together with the Kaiser Foundation Health Plans (KFHP) and Kaiser Foundation Hospitals (KFH), comprise Kaiser Permanente. SUMMARY:
The Executive Director, Products, Sales & Marketing at The Permanente Federation serves as the national liaison to KFHP’s National Health Plan with a focus on 1) providing Permanente input and clinical considerations to health plan products and benefits, 2) supporting sales and account management and marketing with physician leadership and clinical messages, and 3) providing essential direction and support to the Permanente Medical Group Liaisons for Health Plan Operations. This position oversees and manages the day-to-day relationships with key National Health Plan functions, ensures appropriate physician engagement, and advocates for Permanente Medicine with National Health Plan. The Executive Director also oversees appropriate communities of practice and promotes information sharing within and among The Federation and the Permanente Medical Groups (PMGs).
Additionally, the Executive Director may oversee team(s) of consultants to ensure alignment, buy-in, and coordination of diverse stakeholders to drive the development and implementation of long-term business initiatives. Directs business strategy, organizational alignment, and prioritization of business initiatives. Drives the management of complex, cross-functional projects/programs and oversees the proactive monitoring and identification of client, project, program, and/or business risks. Champions change management plans associated with business initiatives. Oversees team members in the assessment of strategic performance metrics to support business initiatives. Directs the work of project/program team members by overseeing the coordination of internal and/or external resources.

- Oversees the operation of multiple units and/or departments by identifying member and operational needs; ensures the management of work assignment allocation and completion; translates business strategy into actionable business requirements; ensures products and/or services meet member requirements and expectations while aligning with organizational strategies.
- Engages strategic, cross-functional business units to champion and drive support for business plans and priorities; assumes responsibility for decision making; sets standards, measures progress, and ensures resolution of escalated issues. Sets and communicates goals and objectives; analyzes resources, costs, and forecasts and incorporates them into business plans; obtains and distributes resources.
- Anticipates and removes obstacles that impact performance; addresses performance gaps and implements contingency plans accordingly; ensures teams accomplish business objectives; serves as a subject-matter expert and trusted source to executive leadership; provides influence and consultation in the development of the larger organizational or business strategy.
- Oversees team(s) of consultants to ensure the alignment, buy-in, and coordination of diverse stakeholders to drive the implementation of strategic business initiatives and projects/programs across multiple functional tracks or complex workstreams.
- Directs business strategy, organizational alignment, and prioritization of business initiatives by working closely with senior executives to guide the development, refinement, and articulation of the long-term business strategy.
- Drives the development and implementation of long-term business initiatives, systems, and/or processes to a desired future state by maintaining an expert understanding of how current processes impact business operations across multiple domains.
- Drives the management of complex, cross-functional projects and/or programs by ensuring the coordination of appropriate stakeholders; influencing the assembly of teams and resources based on project needs and team member strengths.
- Champions change management plans associated with business initiatives by leveraging and developing key stakeholder relationships to obtain support and buy-in for changes.
- Oversees team members in the assessment of strategic performance metrics to support business initiatives by leveraging partnerships with data analytic teams.
- Champions continuous learning and professional development by establishing industry practices, standards, and benchmarks.
- Oversees vendor management as required by proactively monitoring vendor performance levels across KP.
- Monitors and takes accountability for the compliance of teamwork activities by ensuring business plans and team members adhere to KP, departmental, and/or business line policies and procedures.

• Minimum six (6) years supervisory experience managing direct reports.
Education
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and minimum twelve (12) years experience in consulting, project management, data analytics, operations or a directly related field OR master's degree in Business Administration, Public Health, Health Services Administration, or related field and minimum ten (10) years experience in consulting, project management, data analytics, operations or a directly related field OR in lieu of the degree requirement, minimum fifteen (15) years experience in consulting, project management, data analytics, operations or a directly related field.
