Job Description Summary

The EHS Leader for GE Aviation in Batesville, MS will support the Composites Value Streams and demonstrate leadership in communicating EHS business goals, programs, and processes in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment. In this role, you will utilize experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute EHS objectives and effect short-term and long-term business goals.

Essential Responsibilities:

In this role, you will utilize experience and expertise to develop and execute EHS objectives for yourself, your team, and the site to drive success with business deliverables. The following are critical activities for this role:

  1. Develop a team of EHS professionals and serve on the site's leadership team to direct and influence site EHS compliance and culture.
  2. Lead a team of professionals to develop and integrate EHS programs in a manufacturing facility with growth and continuous improvement.
  3. Lead and maintain EHS programs, procedures, practices, licenses, permits, and site-specific EHS documentation, records, and plans to assure compliance with all regulatory and business requirements.
  4. Create and implement the site's EHS strategy aligned with business and Value Stream expectations to achieve best-in-class performance through key performance indicators (KPI) for the site.
  5. Partner with site leadership and Value Stream EHS team to manage site EHS compliance activities to drive a positive, proactive, and collaborative EHS culture.
  6. Develop and implement site-specific Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs and processes.

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 10 years experience in EHS).
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS management in a manufacturing environment.

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or Environmental Science from an accredited college or university.
  2. Demonstrated ability to set and manage competing priorities to drive key deliverables in a fast-paced & dynamic environment.
  3. Demonstrated ability to shape and drive culture including safety mindset and understanding of potential hazards as well as defenses in place to mitigate risks.

  6. Ability to implement EHS using Lean principles to achieve measurable goals.
  7. Ability to self-manage and organize priorities.
  8. Ability to develop other EHS professionals.
  9. Operational experience of business continuity planning and incident management is preferred.
