About the Role
In this role, The Assistant Manager- (Ultrasound) will be responsible for the management and implementation of all Inpatient or Outpatient clinical services within the Department of Radiology. Operates in a technical capacity for one or more imaging modalities. Ensures competency of departmental services, and technical staff, facilitation of imaging services schedules, and evaluation and maintenance of appropriate staffing levels. Oversees the training of staff and student technologists. Responsible for daily operations, staffing and workflow.
Here is what you'll do
  • Support manager in performance management, scheduling, daily operations, hiring, performance feedback, annual competency evaluations, and other managerial functions.
  • Participates in planning and implementation of departmental objectives and goals, designed to foster an atmosphere of teamwork and commitment to patient care and staff development/retention.
  • Oversees employee schedules, time records/requests, and ensures compliance with both hospital and departmental practices and protocols on a consistent basis.
  • Enhances employee engagement and success within Medical Imaging Department.
  • Understands and contributes to all budgetary goals within the hospital and radiology department; evaluates staffing levels and modifies, when appropriate, all reporting areas on a daily basis.

Here's what you'll need
Minimum Required:
  • Associate's degree - or equivalent training acquired via work experience
  • 3-5 years of previous job-related experience
  • May require on-call, weekend, holiday and emergency coverage as department needs warrant.
  • Specific Degree(s): Ultrasound/Sonographer
  • Expected to function as a "working manager"
  • Ability to distinguish between types of medical procedures and diagnoses
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, prioritization, and decision-making skills
  • Assist in training student technologist rotating through the department
  • Requires travelling to offsite locations as needed
Preferred:
  • 3-5 years management or lead experience
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • UKG scheduling or equivalent
Licensure/Certifications
Required:
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARDMS) program
  • Completion of RDMS certification (ARDMS) licensure
  • CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) from American Heart Association only
  • EPIC, PAC experience or equivalent
  • Excel Proficient (intermediate) Testing for proficiency maybe required
