Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. As an Estimator at Templeton Building Company, you will play a crucial role in our project planning, responsible for analyzing construction projects and preparing accurate cost estimates that will be integral to our project's success. Your work will directly impact our ability to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for residential construction projects, including new builds, renovations, and restorations.
- Collaborate with homeowners, architects, and engineers to review project specifications and blueprints to prepare accurate estimates.
- Source and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes, negotiating to secure competitive pricing where possible.
- Analyze labor, material, and time requirements, ensuring all estimates are comprehensive and accurate.
- Utilize software such as Buildertrend, Bluebeam, and other estimating tools.
- Obtain and save documentation of estimates, bids, and contracts.
- Provide ongoing support to the project management team related to scope changes for the duration of the project.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and construction methods to ensure the most accurate and competitive estimates.
Requirements and skills:
-Proven experience as an Estimator in residential construction, with a focus on high-end custom homes, renovations, and historical restoration.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and building codes.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Highly organized with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to build, price, and negotiate contracts effectively.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in estimating costs.
